The Design
Why this build worked
Sarah and Tom wanted something they could place on their block without needing council approval for a permanent structure.
The compact 7.2m x 3m footprint let them do exactly that, while the layout still gave them a full kitchen and a bedroom that didn’t feel like an afterthought. The dark exterior was a deliberate choice too, they wanted it to sit into the bush setting rather than stand out against it.

Photos only get you so far. The best way to know if a tiny home is right for you is to sleep in one. Väike sits right on the Sellicks Beach esplanade, ocean in view from the bed, sand a few steps from the deck. Cook in the kitchen, soak in the outdoor bath as the sun goes down, wake up to the water.
